Full-Mouth Reconstruction

Full-mouth reconstruction, full-mouth rehabilitation, and full-mouth restoration are terms often used interchangeably to describe the process of rebuilding or restoring all of the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws. Dr. Marion will develop a plan that addresses your specific needs while formualating a step-by-step protocol with the goal of making a perfect smile with an ideal bite and optimal function customized for you.

You may be a candidate for full-mouth reconstruction if:

  • Your teeth have been lost due to decay or trauma
  • Your teeth have been injured or fractured
  • Your teeth have become severely worn because of long-term acid erosion (from foods, beverages, or acid reflux)
  • You have ongoing jaw, muscle, or headache pain related to your bite

The extent of your reconstruction will depend on the condition of your teeth. Since Dr. Marion employs the latest dental materials, it may not be necessary to remove as much tooth structure as dentists have done in the past.  Dr. Marion tried to be as conservative as possible by preserving as much health tooth structure as possible.  With today's advances, he may recommend crowns, bridges, veneers, or implants to restore your smile to its best possible condition. At the same time, he will address the state of your gum tissue, as the health of your gums can impact the overall health and esthetics of the resulting smile.

A key element in all full mouth rehabilitations is the use of lab-processed temporary or provisional restorations.  Dr. Marion currently employes a 3D computer generated laboratory process to make the most durable and esthetic temporary teeth as possible.  Dr. Marion believes that the temporary teeth must be the blueprint of the final restorations therefore temporary crowns, veneers, or implants must be functional, esthetic, and comfortable throughout your dental treatment.
